NEW YEAR MESSAGE FROM THE AMBASSADOR TO CAMEROONIANS IN THE USA

Dear Compatriots,

On behalf of the staff of the Embassy and myself, I have the great pleasure and humility to extend to you and your loved ones, wishes of peace, love, happiness, prosperity and above all good health, for the New Year, 2021.

As you all know, the year 2020 has been a tough and challenging one, marked by the global pandemic; which caused countless loss of lives, socio-economic woes and unprecedented changes in our daily routines and occupations. A moment when our faith was greatly tested, as we stayed connected in hope and prayers. It also gave us the opportunity to re-examine our relationships and see the need for closer ties between peoples and nations in tackling global issues.

Permit me in the same light, to recognize, salute, and encourage the services and sacrifices of those hardworking Cameroonians who have been working in the healthcare sector all across the US, saving lives at the perimeter of theirs. They are our heroes and so deserve our recognition and praise.

Also, as we reflect on 2020 and look forward to 2021, may I express my sincere gratitude to all those who in the course of the year joined the Embassy in contributing to nation building; especially in the last virtual meeting between the Embassy and Cameroonians in the USA, which took place from November 21st - 22nd , 2020. In this respect, I would like to encourage you all to continue in the spirit of unity and patriotism as we seek solutions towards the growth and prosperity of our dear fatherland, under the distinguished leadership and guidance of the Head of State, H.E. Paul Biya.

Happy New Year and Long Live Cameroon!!!

THE AMBASSADOR
